SMS program

Program: MemberAlertX group text alerts, operated by Xpandable Technology Lab LLC. A group organizer (a family member, coach, club officer or crew lead) sends short notices to the members of their group, such as "practice moved to 6 pm", "game cancelled" or "generator 2 fault". There is no marketing or promotional content.
Who gets texts: only people who joined a group on their own invite page and then replied YES from that phone.
Message frequency: varies; at most the group's daily limit (10 messages a day per group to start).

Help: reply HELP, or email [email protected].
Opt out: reply STOP to stop all MemberAlertX texts (one confirmation, then nothing more). Reply STOP and a group's name to stop just that group. Reply START to resubscribe.
Privacy: see the Privacy Policy. Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in consent are never shared or sold to third parties for marketing purposes.

How someone opts in (exact path)

The group's organizer, signed in to MemberAlertX, enters the person's email address (organizers can't enter or upload phone numbers).
The person gets an email from MemberAlertX ([email protected]) with a private link: "Group invites you to its text alerts". It says nothing will be texted unless they join and confirm.
Opening the invite page (memberalertx.com/cgi-bin/mxjoin.cgi) from that link first confirms their email address — the page opens only from the link sent to that address.
Then they confirm their phone number and permission: they enter their own mobile number and tick the consent box shown below. The box is never pre-ticked, and the page can't be submitted without it. "No thanks" declines.
MemberAlertX texts that number once: the confirmation text below.
They reply YES from that phone, which confirms both the number and the permission. Only then can the group text them.

Confirmation text (sent once after someone joins on the invite page):

After YES:

MemberAlertX: You're in! You'll get Smith Family alerts. Up to 10 msgs/day per group. Msg&data rates may apply. HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

Example group texts (every one starts with the brand and group and ends with the opt-out):

MemberAlertX: Eagles U12: Practice moved to 6 pm at the north field. Reply STOP to opt out

MemberAlertX: Smith Family: Grandma's flight lands at 4:10, Door 6. Reply STOP to opt out

MemberAlertX: Plant B Crew: Generator 2 fault - on-call please check in. Reply STOP to opt out

HELP reply:

MemberAlertX group text alerts. Your groups: Smith Family (SMITH-FAMILY). Reply STOP to stop all, STOP <group> for one. Msg&data rates may apply. [email protected]

STOP reply:

MemberAlertX: You're unsubscribed from all MemberAlertX groups and will get no more texts. Reply START to resubscribe.

Members can't text the group; other replies get no answer.
